2022 Tower Pinot Noir

The Tower is our true north. We gather our inspirations and map out our dreams and goals. We hope to capture something that inspires us, and that we want to share. Vintners often overuse certain keywords to describe their wines. We are probably guilty too. But this wine demands specific terms of adornment. Elegant, playful yet coy. A keeper, a drinker. A convincing argument for the doubtful. This is a wine of its time and place. The warm and balanced growing season in a vineyard tucked away in the coastal range has created a classic Pinot Noir of focus & purity. The 2022 vintage draws fruit from three vineyards set in the Yamhill-Carlton and Eola Amity Hills AVA. A single blend is created each year to showcase the nuances of the vintage as interpreted by distinctly different sites. The 2022 opens with the warmth of the season's bigger red and black fruit, the red fruit profile intensifying with precision and energy. On the palate, brambly fruit leads into savory wild herbs. The juicy acidity plays against the velvety palate and polished tannins. The freshness and vibrancy of cherries and red currants persist through a long finish.

2022 Sunflower Chardonnay

This Chardonnay was gently pressed before going into four French oak barrels to slowly start its spontaneous fermentation. Our Sunflower Chardonnay comes from a very small allocation of 1.5 tons of Dijon clones from the beautiful Left Coast Vineyards. In our ninth vintage working with this biodiverse site, we grow more excited and infatuated with the wines produced here. The cooler weather, vigorous coastal winds, and rich ancient seabed soils ensure a unique wine is made each year. The 2022 vintage balances texture, minerality, and richness. The wine opens with ocean air and kumquat. The fruit comes in layers, succulent natural acidity breathing freshness into the wine. Texturally rich, the layered stone fruit profile sits in front of a light oak influence on the palate.

2023 Wanderer Gamay Noir

“The Gamay Noir is reminiscent of a young cru Beaujolais”. - Wine Advocate

Made in a classical style, our Gamay brings juiciness and freshness with bright acidity. The 2022 vintage is aromatically boasting brambly red fruit giving way to a lusher raspberry, cranberry, dried orange peel and a hint of savory notes. Texturally, this is a velvety wine, with smooth tannins.

2022 Bieze Vineyard Pinot Noir

With this single vineyard Pinot Noir, we return with a second exploration into the beauty of Bieze. Picked on October 14th, this wine is true to itself, year after year. Each vintage, this site produces with of power, blue fruit and minerality. A bit more structured than most of our other Pinot Noirs, the generous fruit keeps balance. Each year we get 3 tons of Pommard from this site, and each year it is the last Pinot Noir to come into the winery. We pick the three barrels that are older, and show what this site is all about!

2022 Lazy River Vineyard Pinot Noir

We first worked with Lazy River when we were all younger, in 2003. Now working with it as adults, this site has matured into something really special. We get a small block of Wadensvil from the top of the vineyard. It is the first fruit to come in every year, bringing with it juiciness, a lush array of fruit and a boisterous attitude. This wine is easy to love.

2023 Menefee Vineyards Chardonnay

This wine celebrates the unique beauty of Chardonnay from our family vineyard, Menefee Vineyards. We sampled fruit over and over, with little patience and too much excitement. Finally, the acidity of the fruit came into balance and we picked it on the 15th of October. Menefee is an exceptional site nestled in the foothills of the coastal range. Bordered by a mushroom farm, a Douglas fir tree line, and dotted with Mirabelle Plum trees and Cassis plantings, it's an ode to our family farm in the Loire Valley. In our third vintage working with Chardonnay from this site, we wanted to showcase the unique character of Menefee; a cool site that allows for longer hang time while retaining ever-important acidity. The higher elevation, coastal influence, and volcanic soils come together to create a wine of purity and elegance. This is a wine that brings a broader texture with minerality and brightness. The wine opens with lushness, jasmine flowers, orange blossom water, and a stony mineral note. The citrus blossoms, grapefruit zest, and lingering ginger notes keep the wine fresh and vibrant.
